Coram's Field youth group

A group of young people aged 13-19 who use Coram's Fields youth centre regularly and train basketball, wanted to start a film-making course. They were inspired by the movie Hoop Dreams, a true story about young
kids from a run-down neighbourhood, who through determination and self-belief achieve their goals through basketball. This group decided
they wanted to make a low budget a documentary film about their own experiences and their love of basketball, set in urban London.

This would mean having skills workshops on different elements that
go into filmmaking including production, editing, script writing, shooting schedules, sound, voiceovers and music. The project ran twice a week
for six months. As part of the preparation they also did research into gang culture and discussed about the controversial comment by Tony Blair in April 2007 about the recent knife crime and gun murders as specific to black youth.

Original music on the film was created by the same talented young people who worked on the film. Watch this space for news of the film’s release!
