Fifty seconds into the match, Jens Lehmann made an immediate impact after making a mess of Gael Clichy’s back pass and giving Fulham’s gifted new signing, David Healy, his first premiership goal.
Arsenal appeared to be heading for certain defeat as Fulham goalkeeper Tony Warner produced countless fantastic saves to keep Arsenal at bay. But Fulham’s lead was cut short when Kolo Toure was body-checked by Carlos Bocanegra, after a powerful run from the halfway line and
Van Persie belted in the spot-kick to give Arsenal hope.
Arsenal dominated the game after this great goal and the only thing between the Gunners and another one was the awesome Warner. Then in the dying seconds of the match Alexander Hleb drove a shot beyond the outstretched hands of Warner to claim a 2-1 win against Fulham.
